Synlyfe - Longing Freedom

Wanted to lean into the sombre vibes I got from the picture, despite the theme concept being rather hopeful and uplifting. Tried to evoke a sense of melancholy with the piano - heavily processed, with the final output then ran through a driven low-pass filter with some resonators to excite certain frequencies. It muddies out the sound as a whole and gives it this kind of dark edge, I think. 

The supporting instrumentation, for the most part, is rather clean and serves as a pulse to keep the track driving forward. The exception to this is the sine wave from Serum being processed in much the same way as the keys. In an attempt to lean a little more into the hopeful nature of the track, the key modulates to Ab near the end and the supporting melodies are changed to be a little more pensive.

Only had approximately 3 hours to get this done so there is a lot I would change with it, but I still wanted to submit so I could partake in the Jam.
